Alyssa Jones, M.A.

Alyssa Jones is an advanced graduate student in the Clinical Psychology PhD program at the University of Kentucky (UK). She has worked as a graduate student therapist in a variety of settings, including the UK Counseling Center and the Lexington VA within the Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Clinical Team (PCT). Most recently, she served as Assistant Director of The Harris Center, where she led daily operations alongside the Center’s director. 

Alyssa’s research focuses on understanding the emotional impact of trauma, the development and treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder, the role of specific emotions in trauma-related psychopathology, and individual differences in emotional experience and emotion regulation. She has been published in a variety of peer-reviewed journals, including Cognitive Therapy and Research, Eating Behaviors, and the Journal of Pediatric Psychology, and her research has been supported by UK’s Office for Policy Studies on Violence Against Women, the Center for Clinical and Translational Science at UK, and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. Alyssa is passionate about evidence-based treatment and is excited to be a member of the CEH.
