Jessica Flores, M.S.

Jessica is currently a doctoral candidate in the Clinical Psychology program at the University of Kentucky (UK). Previously, Jessica served as an intake assessor and individual therapist at UK’s Counseling Center. Jessica also served as a clinical psychology extern in the Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Clinic Team (PCT) at the Lexington VA Medical Center, where she conducted intake assessments and provided trauma-focused individual and group treatment to veterans.  Between 2017 – 2021, she provided individual CBT treatment to clients at The Harris Center. Jessica is currently a psychology intern at UK’s Eastern State Hospital, where she conducts diagnostic assessments and provides psychological treatment to patients. Additionally, she delivers brief psychoeducational interventions in English and Spanish to patients seeking care at UK’s Clínica Amiga, a pediatric primary care clinic serving the Latinx community in Lexington, KY.  

Jessica’s research interests focus on understanding trauma response, the development and treatment of PTSD, and the impact of trauma and PTSD on health outcomes, specifically sexual and reproductive health. She is also interested in examining potential mental health disparities among trauma-exposed underserved populations.
