Difficulties We Treat
Everyone experiences emotional reactions when faced with stress. However, these feelings can sometimes become overwhelming and interfere with your life. At the Clinic for Emotional Health, we conduct treatment outcome studies to address emotional difficulties that prevent people from engaging with school, work, relationships, or self-care. Indeed, emotions are at the core of many common mental health diagnoses, including the conditions listed on this page.
Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Social Anxiety Disorder
Panic Disorder
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Trauma and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Depression
Borderline Personality Disorder
Many people with the emotional difficulties described above also struggle with alcohol and substance use; in fact, alcohol and substances are often used to cope with strong emotions. At CEH, our research treatments are designed to help patients overcome the full range of emotion-related problems, including the use of alcohol and other substances. However, sometimes alcohol and substance use are better treated with different approaches (i.e., detoxification, medication-assisted treatment); we will help you determine if any of our studies are the best fit for you and provide referrals if your difficulties are better treated elsewhere.
